Its translation is "Amanita of the Caesars", because this mushroom was coveted already in the Roman empire. It is very possible that the Caesars sent to collect this fungus in the Catalan area of Spain.
You can now find it between summer and autumn in regions with a Mediterranean climate. Its color, orange, bright orange or very strong orange, reminds us of an egg yolk.
They can measure more than 20 cm, but at the beginning of its maturation is when it has the best flavor. Its striking shape when it emerges from the ground reveals an incredible mushroom that can be eaten raw.
